Berkswell

oil on wood, 8x8"

Berkswell, original artwork by Mike Geno

From the Cheese Portraits series.

Berkswell sheep's milk cheese is hand made at Ram Hall Farm, situated on the edge of Berkswell village, close to Coventry in England. It's shaped like a flying saucer due to the shape of the basket mould in which it is made. It's unusual pointed shape is part of why I chose to paint it. Having a thin wedge though, It seemed most interesting to have it balanced on one of it's rounded sides, standing asymmetrically and creating a diagonal on this small square
