This is 2022's "Best of Show" 2nd place champion at the American Cheese Society competition.

I'm thrilled to paint another Best of Show winner from my home state, Pennsylvania. Goat Rodeo doesn't just make some great award-winning cheeses, they're also such nice people, like so many cheesemakers I have had the good fortune to meet.

This semi soft washed rind mellow and buttery cheese is made with a goat and cow mixed milk and washed with beer from the Cinderlands Beer Co. It has some nutty and meaty notes and to me, just melts on the tongue like sunshine.

It's always an honor to paint the portraits of the best of show winners, and so this one has the traditional red ribbon background color which I think nicely harmonizes with that orange-pink rind.
