It was such a pleasure to revisit this same subject I had painted years ago, as a new commission. While the request was to paint it the same size, format and somewhat same colors, I found the background improved being a bit lighter.

I am also eternally grateful for the help of the Baker John McGrath who made the original subject I had previously painted. Now that he's working at Merzbacher's, he and Pete Merzbacher worked to help me have just a beautiful loaf to paint.
